Prerequisites
You need a SAP Cloud Platform subaccount or a SAP Cloud Platform Trial account (SAP Cloud Platform Trial).
Step 1 – Choose a Subaccount
In the SAP Cloud Platform Cockpit select a subaccount to work with:
Step 2 – Subscribe to Launchpad Service
Navigate to ‘Subscriptions’ (left hand side) and click the ‘Launchpad’ tile (center).
Subscribe to the Launchpad service:
Step 3 – Assign Launchpad Admin Role
Navigate to ‘Role Collections’ (left hand side) and click the details arrow of the ‘Launchpad_Admin’ row (right hand side) to open the role page:
Click ‘Edit’ to change the role assignments:
Add your account to the list of assigned ‘Users’ by pressing ‘+’ and inputting your account name (presumably your mail address) and email afterwards. Finally click ‘Save’ to confirm the changes:
Optional: If you plan to add custom styling rules using CSS to your theme, please repeat all the steps described beforehand starting from the ‘Role Collections’ overview page and additionally assign the role ‘Launchpad_Advanced_Theming’ to your account.
Step 4 – Start Launchpad
Navigate to ‘Subsciptions’ (left hand side) and click the ‘Go to Application’ link in the ‘Launchpad’ tile, or open the ‘Launchpad’ service site (by clicking the tile) and click ‘Go to Application’:
Step 5 – Create Website
Create a website:
Open the website:
Step 6 – Open Theme Designer
Open the website menu by clicking your account icon (top right) and select ‘Theme Manager’:
Click ‘Launch Theme Designer’:
Step 7 – Select SAPUI5 Version
Select appropriate SAPUI5 version by clicking version info at top right:
Step 8 – Create New Theme
Create a new theme (or upload an existing one):
This solution seems to be already out dated. SAP Cloud Platform is know SAP BTP. In BTP I managed to start the launchpad and give my user the launch pad admin role but I’m still getting the “access denied” screen.
